Gladsia's Million Dollar Cookies

1 ct. Ritz crackers
1 c. dates, diced fine
1 can Eagle brand milk
1/2 c. copped nuts
4 oz. cream cheese, soft
2 T. butter, soft
a small amount of vanilla
2 c. powdered sugar

Cook dates and milk in a double boiler until thick. Add nuts and spread on individual Ritz crackers. Place on cookie sheet and bake 350 degrees for 8 minutes. Cool. Frost with frosting made with the 4 oz. cream cheese, 2 T. butter, vanilla and 2 c. powdered sugar. I cream the frosting ingredients together and use a small pair of thongs to dip the cookies in the frosting mix and then place them on a sheet of parchment paper. Make sure to make several batches at one time for they will go fast.

Recipe Note: Gladsia and her husband, Herb, were the official Chamber of Commerce greeters during my work years at the chamber. They became dear friends. Having lunch with Gladsia at her home was a special treat. These cookies she always made for special occasions in my life. I do not share them.
