Layered Brownies

1 pkg. chocolate cake mix
1 c. chopped nuts
1/3 c. vegetable oil
1 egg
1 can condensed milk
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp vanilla extract

Combine cake mix, nuts, oil and egg. Mix till crumbly. Set aside 1 1/2 for topping. Press the remaining crumb mixture into a greased 13 x 9 inch baking pan. In a saucepan, combine milk, chocolate chips and salt. Cook and stir over low heat until chips are melted. Stir in vanilla. Spread evenly in pan. Sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes or until a skewer inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool before cutting.
