problem???????????????????????????????????????????????????

ok not 2long ago i had a problem wit white crystally stuff growing on my heater 1 of 3, people said it could b salt or minerals in the water since i cut out the salt it was grand 4about 1 month but now i have a simular substance on 2 of the 3 heaters but its brown crystals. any 1 know wats going on and is this stuff bad 4 fish i cant imagine brown crystals going tru there gills is good. also y is it only 2 heaters and not the other 1 or the glass
the furthest heater from the filter (fluval 405 which has a strong out flo) is fine

Another good reason salt should stay out of the aquariums. Unfortunately salt does not evaporate so chances are there is stil residue in the tank. (Tap water has no salt) The brown crystals are more than likely algae enfused mineraland salt deposits. Simply clean them off. Until you have gone roughly two months of water changes of 25% weekly the salt residue is still in the tnak. Also, your water conditioner contains sodium as well, be careful how much you use when doing water changes.

Give it time, itwill eventually be removed from the tank.
